Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PIA (Personal Identity Agent), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and PIA. Your use of the service confirms your acceptance of these Terms.
2. Description of Service
PIA is an "OAuth for Life" platform that allows users to:
• Configure personal identity profiles for AI agents
• Define permission-based policies controlling what agents can do
• Authorize external agents to act on their behalf
• Verify agent actions against configured policies using AI/LLM providers
• Connect services (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Drive, Tasks) for agent execution
• Maintain comprehensive audit logs of all agent activities
The service uses AI/LLM providers (Groq, Google Gemini, or Ollama) to evaluate agent requests against your configured policies.
3. User Responsibilities
As a user of PIA, you agree to:
• Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Configure your agent policies responsibly and review them regularly
• Monitor authorized agents and revoke access when no longer needed
• Review audit logs periodically to ensure no unauthorized activity
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Not use the service for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes
• Not attempt to circumvent security measures or access restrictions
• Not share your agent tokens with unauthorized parties
4. Agent Authorization
When you authorize an external agent to access your PIA account:
• You grant the agent specific permissions from your configured policy
• The agent receives a secure token (valid for 1 year by default)
• All agent actions are verified against your policy before execution
• Complete audit logs are maintained for all agent activities
• You can revoke agent access at any time through the "My Agents" page
• You are responsible for monitoring and managing authorized agents
• PIA is not responsible for actions taken by third-party agents
5. Service Integrations
PIA integrates with third-party services (Google Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Drive, Tasks):
• You must authorize each service connection via OAuth
• OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and used only for approved actions
• You can disconnect services at any time through the "Connections" page
• PIA is not responsible for issues with third-party services
• Service availability and functionality may change without notice
• You remain responsible for all actions executed through connected services
6. AI/LLM Verification
PIA uses AI/LLM providers to verify agent actions:
• Your action requests are sent to the configured LLM provider (Groq, Gemini, or Ollama)
• LLM responses are used to make approval or denial decisions
• AI verification is not perfect and may produce incorrect results
• You should review audit logs and configure policies carefully
• PIA is not liable for incorrect AI decisions
• You can change your preferred LLM provider in your policy settings
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
• PIA is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure service
• We are not liable for damages resulting from use of the service
• We are not responsible for actions taken by authorized agents
• We are not liable for issues with third-party services or LLM providers
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service
• Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limits may not apply to you
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of PIA is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using PIA, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for:
• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• Prolonged inactivity
• Any reason at our sole discretion
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, all your data will be deleted according to our data retention policy (see Privacy Policy).
10. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
11. Intellectual Property
The PIA service, including all software, design, text, graphics, and other content, is owned by PIA and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the service without our written permission.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the service shall be resolved in the courts of the United States.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Your continued use of PIA after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
